Natick, MA - MAPLE Soccer will officially become Northeast Soccer League on January 1, 2017. The goal of the name change is to better define the geographical area of their member clubs and to foster an environment for player development through quality competition. This will be achieved though the development of a new Elite Division, which will involve inter-state play with other neighboring Premier League teams.
Leading the change will be USSF National Staff Coach and former USYS National Director of Coaching, Tom Goodman. Tom is the new Executive Director of the league and is enthused and excited about the new changes to the league, “I am really looking forward to the New Year with all of these changes and feel strongly that we’ll be offering a high quality product for all our members. What I am really excited about is that we are going to start to build a stronger league based on standard and merit and we will be partnering with some quality organizations, such as Nike, We Got Soccer, and Mass Youth Soccer.”
Northeast Soccer League will continue to provide more than just a place to play soccer and will offer a variety of programs and events for the benefit of all their member clubs. They will offer a series of educational programs for their coaches, administrators, parents, referees and they will provide programs that will help to develop their smaller clubs into larger clubs.
The name change and new brand identity will be slowing introduced throughout the remainder of 2016 and will be officially launched on January 1, 2017.
